In case you haven’t heard, KAABOO is back at Del Mar this weekend, and it’s going to be an adventure you don’t want to miss. From Friday September 16 - Sunday September 18, experience almost 40 hours packed with all-star music, hilarious comedy, world-class cuisine, craft cocktails, inspirational art, and 1st class amenities. The festival will be held at the Del Mar Racetrack & Fairgrounds, and gates open 11:30am each day. Outdoor music stops at 10pm on Friday and Saturday, and 9pm on Sunday, but on Friday and Saturday the entertainment continues inside after 10pm.
Music headliners include Jimmy Buffett, Jack Johnson, Aerosmith, and Fall Out Boy, and other standouts like Hall & Oates, The Avett Brothers, Steve Aoki, Ludacris, The Chainsmokers, Grouplove, Blues Traveler, RAC, Atlas Genius, and the Gin Blossoms. In addition to the music lineup, there will also be entertainment provided by stand-up comedians. At the comedy tent, former SNL stars Sarah Silverman, Dana Carvey, and Darrell Hammond lead the way. Cheech and Chong, Brian Posehn, Doug Benson, Comedy Central’s Natasha Leggero, and current SNL star Vanessa Bayer are also set to perform.
The food portion of the event, Palate, features dishes from various locally and nationally renowned chefs to go along with samplings from wineries and several local craft breweries. Food connoisseurs will have the opportunity to see “Top Chef” stars Richard Blais and Marcel Vigneron in action. Other KAABOO festival chefs at the festival include Josiah Citrin, Ray Garcia, and another “Top Chef” alum, Brian Malarkey. Additionally some of San Diego’s best restaurants will be serving food throughout the festival in this shaded area.
You can purchase a cabana or single entry to Bask, the specially designed sandy beach area with pool, bar and view of the Grandview Stage. There’s even indoor fashion for trying on, and a spa and relaxation zone. Guests are also invited on a visual journey of contemporary art with the KAABOO ArtworK Experience. If you still need more stimulation after all this, Encore late-night dance party runs from 10pm to 2:30am.
Such a spectrum of activities is predicted to interest a wide variety of of attendees from 20-somethings, to middle-aged patrons to grandparents. So guests from all different walks of life, it’s time to get ready for this mix-perience of discovery!
