Casino Night & Negroni Week @ Parq, Sponsored By Campari

Monday, June 6th marks the official start of Imbibe Magazine's Negroni Week, a time to celebrate the classic Italian cocktail and charitable giving. Eech year during Negroni Week, restaurants and bars around the world pledge to donate money to a charity for every Negroni sold.

Traditionally made of one part gin, one part vermouth rosso, and one part Campari, garnished with orange peel, the origins of the Negroni cocktail can be traced back to Count Camillo Negroni in the early 1900’s in Florence, Italy. And while we welcome any reason to sip on this iconic cocktail, June 6 - 12 offers an opportunity to imbibe while also doing some good.

In 2013, Imbibe Magazine launched Negroni Week in celebration of the cocktail while raising money for charitable causes. By 2014, Imbibe together with Campari expanded the scope of Negroni Week globally, and the week-long celebration has since grown exponentially, having spread to more than 3,500 bars/restaurant in 44 countries. In 2015 alone, Negroni Week raised $321,000 in donations, and Campari donated and extra $10,000 to the charity of the bar who raised the most funds. Grand Banks in New York City was the 2015 top fundraiser, with the donated the funds it raised going to The Maritime Foundation.

For the 2016 Negroni Week kick-off in San Diego, GDM We Rise and Parq Restaurant & Nightclub are holding a Casino Night to raise funds funds for local nonprofit, The Friends of Scott Foundation. The Casino Night will be held on Monday, June 6 at Parq in the heart of the Gaslamp. The charitable giving event is sponsored by Campari and features Negroni & Negroni Week. $1 from each Negroni sold will be donated to Friends of Scott. So what do you say, San Diego, can we make Parq the 2016 biggest fundraiser, earning an extra $10,000 for the Friends of Scott Foundation?
